The Tarin vineyards
| The TARIN family is the owner of 3 vineyards (175ha) located in Charente Maritime, halfway between Cognac and Royan. Implanted on two crus of the Cognac appellation area., 120 hectares are destined to the production of Cognac and Pineau des Charentes. We have been distilling with the help of four copper pot stills similar to those of the 13th century, through generations, since at least 1870. Today, Nathalie and Gregory distill in their turn. They have inherited a know-how, a complicity and love of the trade To acquire all the qualities imparted to Cognac, our eau de vie remains for many long years in oak barrels in cellars that are perfectly enclosed and deprived of light. This is how its amber color, its special aroma and its bouquet will slowly develop. But the major secret lies in blending. It is the cellar master's art, similar to that of the painter and his harmonious colour blends. Devoting all his attention to it, the artist isolates himself and it is only after a long process of selection and tasting that he assembles the variety of bouquets, scents and flavours required by each quality. Take the time .... Here's the secret.. Our Pineaux des Charentes and Cognacs are finally ready to satisfy the palates. At the château TARIN , all the stages, from production to bottling, are perfectly controlled in compliance with the obligations as regards quality. It is only then that our marketing company intervenes by packing the bottles and decanters with the help of two recent bottling lines. In 2011 we celebrated our 35 years of bottling and our 14th medal in 11 years of presentation at the Paris Agricultural Show contests : General Agricultural Contest and Flavour Contest.
